Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to your most commonly asked questions regarding the REALTOR® Party and RAPAC.

Does PAAR support a specific political party or agenda?

No. PAAR does not back any political party but supports candidates and legislation that are favorable to the real estate industry and property owners. This support is offered when we have determined a candidate or legislation is favorable to REALTOR® issues. Recommendations are made by members to the Board of Directors who then affirm or deny the endorsements.

Why isn’t PAAR involved in certain issues?

PAAR has a Government Affairs Director who works closely with Arizona REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS® to monitor legislation that could affect the real estate industry. If you would like to notify us of an issue, please contact our Government Affairs team at 928-445-2663.

What is the REALTOR® Party?

The REALTOR® Party is a powerful alliance of REALTORS® and REALTOR® Associations working to protect and promote homeownership and property investment. The REALTOR® Party speaks with one voice to advance candidates and public policies that build strong communities and promote a vibrant business environment.

What is RAPAC?

The REALTORS® of Arizona Political Action Committee (RAPAC) is a membership-sponsored effort organized to financially support candidates running for state and local office whose position on real estate regulation and a free-market business environment most closely represents the initiatives of the Arizona Association of REALTORS®. RAPAC contributes to and channels resources into races that will have the most impact on the real estate industry. The PAC is a voluntary, non-profit political action committee and operates independently of any political party.

Why should I invest in RAPAC?

Monies raised through RAPAC are directly used to preserve private property rights and protect the real estate industry. Through RAPAC, legislation has been defeated or supported that made a crucial difference in how you do business every day in Arizona.

Do membership dues fund political candidates?

Membership dues do not fund financial endorsements of candidates. Financial endorsements are only made through funds specifically contributed to RAPAC by members individually on a voluntary basis.
