If you are a resident of the City of Prescott, we want you to be aware of the city council and mayoral election coming up on August 5. As you go to cast your ballot we hope that you will take into consideration important issues about our community and how we want to see it thrive going into the future.
How do you cast your vote?
Early voting as already started. The last day you can vote early is August 5. See this webpage from the Yavapai County Elections Department on in-person early voting, locations and hours. Proper identification is required.
Are you registered to vote?
Under Arizona law you must be registered to vote 29 days before the election. If you are not currently registered as a voter in Prescott, then you cannot participate in this election. But don’t despair! While you’re thinking about it, register right now for upcoming elections in our city, county, and state. In fact, the November 2026 midterm elections are coming up. It is expected to be a high turnout with several important issues candidates on the ballot, and we don’t want you to miss out. If you or someone you know is active duty in the U.S. military then they can get assistance registering through the Federal Voting Assistance Program.
What else can you do to support and encourage voter participation?
Consider a voter registration form as a closing gift when you complete your next transaction! It is a fun conversation started and nice way to way “welcome to the neighborhood” to the new homeowners that you helped. Lastly, consider signing up to be a poll worker. Depending on each election, several positions may be available including inspector, clerk, and election day technician. Even students can apply. Click here to learn more about serving as a poll worker.
